30 Week Check Up

Today we had our 30 week check up with the doctor. She was very pleased with everything - our glucose test, hemoglobin check, measurement, weight, blood pressure, etc. got an A+ from the doctor so, I was on cloud nine with happieness! We feel so blessed that our pregnancy is going so smoothly. The minor aches and pains are nothing worth mentioning when the big stuff is going well!

Our doctor has been floating between two offices in the same practice and we learned that she is going to be staying stationed at the one that is a little further from us. Since all is going well, we've decided to stick to the office near us and meet with a new doctor at our next visit. We have been so blessed thus far so I feel confident that God will put us in good hands.

We are down to having appointments every two weeks! Our next appointment is Thursday, June 10th!

Baby Shower: Parent's Friends

I had the nicest baby shower this weekend with my mom's friends and my mother-in-law's friends. We had a house full of thoughtful people! My mom went all out on the decorating. I thought I was a party planner, but her decorations were top notch! Everything was adorable, the food was delicious, the weather beautiful, and the company extra special! Neal and I are so thankful to our parents' friends. It is a blessing to know your parents are surrounded by loving, thoughtful people in their lives and we love each of you. Thank you for showering us with love!

The Dent Wizard

This week I have been referring to Jacob as The Dent Wizard. We had a followup ultrasound this past Monday and as soon as the doctor pressed the "wand" on my tummy Jake kicked it hard. Neal and I have been joking that he saw that little dent in his home and kicked it right out. :) Our purpose for having an ultrasound this late was to look at the location of the placenta which has been "low lying". We had good news - it's location had changed as I grew. Unfortunately, an error was made in scheduling our appointment so, we didn't get the detailed ultrasound we expected and we don't really have a good picture of Jacob to share from this appointment. Therefore, you get another belly picture this week. Our next appointment is May 26th.

Upcoming Appointment

Our next doctor's appointment has been moved up to Monday, May 3rd! I am so anxious to see Jake on the screen again. He is such a wiggle worm these days that I am curious to see what it is he is doing in there (I think he is practicing his dance moves)! Check back on Tuesday to see Jake's ultrasound picture!

So many of our friends are pregnant and the due dates are quickly approaching. We are so thankful for all the pregnancies and pray that each and every friend is blessed with a healthy, happy gift from God!

Our friends Jacob and Emily had their 2nd little one under a week ago! Congrats on beautiful baby Caroline! It looks like big brother Crawford is a gentle helper!

Easy Breezy Appointment with the Doc

Last week we had our 23 week visit to the doctor. Today I am 24 weeks! It was a breeze of an appointment. We got to hear that healthy little heartbeat again and were on our way (although we spent a long time in the waiting room). Our next appointment is May 6th and will be a busy one. We’ll have a glucose screening test, blood draw for hemoglobin check, and a follow up ultrasound! I am looking forward to it. The time is really flying. Below is a picture of me at 23 weeks and I am growing…or Jake is growing by the day!
We also want to say a very special congratulations to Bonnie and Jeremy on the birth of their miracle baby, Isabella! She is just adorable and we are so delighted to hear that she and mom are doing well. Below is a beautiful photo of Isabella!

A Nursery in Progress...

It has been so much fun working on Jacob's nursery! Neal loves to "construct" and I love to decorate so we have been bursting with nursery ideas. The hard part is done! Neal worked so hard to pull down baseboards, window seals and trim to put up wainscoting and new baseboards and trim. I am so proud of him and so excited about how well it turned out!

CONSTRUCTION ZONE

The next step was painting. We chose a few shades of blue and then went back and chose a couple more. Once we finally settled on a color it was time to paint. One evening I ran a few errands and when I came home Neal and his parents were putting the finishing touches of blue paint on the walls! I was so surprised and excited! Thank you Buddy and Betsy for all your help!

Now to the fun part! Decorating...and of course another project for Neal - - - designing a closet to organize all the precious things that Jake is already accumulating!
