8 & 9 Months

Time sure flies when you are having fun.  I cannot believe how fast the days and months seem to come and go and how quickly Jake is approaching his first birthday!  We have been so busy that I missed his 8 month post.  Below are some of the fun things Jake is doing these days!  We'll post again with his weight, etc. when he has his 9 month check up this week!  Stay tuned...

8 MONTHS OLD
9 MONTHS OLD

Jake keeps us laughing as his personality evolves every day.  I think that being able to interact with Jake has been my favorite stage so far.  I sure did love every step up to this point, but being able to show him love and know that he gets it a little more every day is my favorite!

These days...

Jake is so ticklish on his back, under his arms, and at the tops of his legs (just like his mama).
He laughs at the same part of his Baby Einstein video each time.
He laughs at his puppets no matter what they do.
He is very serious about paying attention to the teacher at Once Upon a Lap at the library.
He has six teeth and I think more are quickly on their way.
Jake can pick up cheerios and loves them!  He had them the first time at Caroline's birthday party.
He sits in his travel swing to watch tv, but is too heavy for it to go.  (It will NOT swing him.) hahaha!
He gives open kisses.  His Nana taught him to do that.
He loves to knock over stacked cups and throw toys.
Jake claps!
He loves when we sing to him and recognizes songs!
He bites.  I swear if he was a daycare baby I'd already be getting notes about Jake biting the other kids.
He rolls around like crazy and pushes up great (finally), but not crawling yet.  I think it will happen soon!
He says dada and mama, but I don't know if he knows what they mean.
Jake loves to feel the silk on blankets when he is falling asleep (like mama did).
He crosses his feet like he is sitting indian style!
He runs all over the house in his Jeep walker, chases Saddie, and laughs with delight!
He can pull the blankets over his face for peek-a-boo.
Jake holds his bottle...he also throws it.  :)
Most importantly...Jake smiles all the time!  He is such a happy baby and just loves loves loves people.  He doesn't meet a stranger and he thinks everyone should want to talk to him.  He is such a ham considering he can't even speak!  We are tickled by him all the time.  We love  you Jake!

Happy Easter

EASTER from Jake's point of view...

 SATURDAY

Saturday evening we went to my Bebe and Budroe's house for dinner.  When we got there Bebe and Budroe gave Allie and I Easter baskets!  I loved all of my surprises.

I was the coolest guy in the house!
After dinner Allie and I played.  She tried to get me and it was soooo funny!

Later, I got to spend some time with Nana while the rest of the family headed to church!

SUNDAY

On Sunday morning mama dressed me all up and brought me the Easter basket that the big bunny left for me!  I was so amazed!

I played with every single thing the bunny gave me.

After I looked through my basket mama put me in it!  She's nuts, but I did enjoy it! ha!

My dog got an Easter bone, but she wanted to play with the Easter eggs from my basket instead.

After we were all ready we went to my Bebe & Budroe's house for brunch.  Everyone took lots and lots of pictures of Allie and me.  I sure was glad Allie and I were in the spotlight together.  It's much better than being alone.

Daddy helped me stand and mama sure was glad because she got a shot of my first Easter outfit.

This is dada, mama, and me.  We are smiling because we are a happy family of three.

These are my aunts and uncles and of course my awesome cousin.  Love her!

Later, we went over to Nana's house for dinner.  She gave me an Easter basket too.  I loved all of my goodies.  I also got a basket from my Aunt Mary Ann!!

I did lots of fun things at Nana's!  I went swimming, I played with all my relatives, and I played with all of my new toys.

Sarah even kicked her legs with me!  That is my FAVORITE thing to do and usually I'm doing it alone. :)  We also clapped and played peek-a-boo.

Then, I got to play with my cousin, Mary.  She held me lots and we played with my toys!

When we got home mama put all my Easter goodies together and took a picture for us to look back at.  Mama reminded me that I was blessed with lots of fun things this Easter.  She also said that the biggest blessing I got was to be able to spend time with so much family.  She said that things can come and go, but the love of family will stay forever!  She is so smart!

Happy Easter, I hope you have been blessed with lots of love too!

Our Trip to EdVenture

On Saturday we took a family trip to EdVenture, the Children's Museum in Columbia, SC.  Our intention was the zoo, but the weather had other plans in store for us.  We met up with Neal's sister, her husband, and their adorable daughter, Allie Jane, for our big day out.  Obviously the museum was a little advanced for our 3 and 7 month olds, but it was neat to check it out and spend some time together anyways!  It's a really neat place and I know we'll be back in the future for many fun-filled days!

A Breath of Fresh Air

There is something about being outside in the Spring that is just refreshing.  I have enjoyed taking Jake to the park for a walk, a little swinging, and mostly just snuggling on a blanket under a shaded tree.  He loves to lay on his back, kick, and just stare up at the big trees!  I have to admit I enjoy it too.  When we're away from the house the temptation to clean, do laundry, wash bottles, and do a hundred other chores is set aside.  I am reminded that those things can be done at a less precious time and that the laundry, the bottles, and the pledge don't appreciate me as much as my little boy does!

Wordless Wednesday

Wordless Wednesday
(I stole this idea from a few on my friends who have blogs for their children.  I love this idea, especially tonight when I want to share a precious picture, but am too tired for words.)

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Jake has a good amount of Irish blood so, it was only appropriate that he start celebrating early!  We went to a local festival Thursday night and Jake was a trooper!

All Big & 7 Months

Our big boy turned 7 months on March 7th.  We our cherishing every moment.  Each phase is more and more fun, but each day is going so fast!

Jake weighs about 18 lbs 8 ozs.

He is already too big for allot of 9 month clothing.

Jake is putting allot of weight on his legs these days and loves trying to stand on us!

He walks backwards in his Jeep walker.

He sits up on his own.

He falls on his tummy and can roll to his back.  He has rolled to his tummy before, but then decided he can't do it anymore. :)

He loves our dog, Saddie, but any time he slightly touches her she runs away.

He loves Baby Einstein and if you get in his way while it is on he'll lean over to look around you.

Jake doesn't meet a stranger...he smiles at everyone.

He loves balloons!

He takes two naps a day (for the most part) and is doing good at being put down while awake.

He eats three meals a day!

We are trying to teach him to drink from a sippy cup.

Below is a picture of Jacob at 7 months in front of the toy box that Neal's dad built for him when he was a little boy!
